Social Media Manager Job Description

Flying Point Digital is seeking a highly motivated individual with experience and passion for social media to effectively grow exposure for our clients online.  The Social Media Manager will provide insight into how marketing and social media are used to develop brand reputation in the online community as well as implement engagement strategies that lead to customer satisfaction.  The Social Media Manager will have an opportunity to help identify target audiences, assist in building social media campaigns that generate new leads, craft online social media marketing strategies, as well as manage the online reputation of brands.  This individual will be responsible for identifying and engaging in conversations via Twitter, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and community blogs.


  • Manage and monitor in real time the online reputation of Flying Point Digital and our client’s brands
  • Hour by hour participation in online conversations that surround our content and client’s brand,

identify threats and opportunities, answer comments, be a community manager

  • Create new, unique content for social media sites to build brand awareness
  • Develop blog articles around popular and sharable topics
  • Establish and run Facebook contests targeting lead generation
  • Build and maintain content distribution schedules by way of social media channels
    • Analyze campaigns and translate data into recommendations and plans for revising social media and

reputation management strategies

  • Organize results and findings into presentations for clients and team members
  • Maintain awareness of new social media marketing techniques being used by others, as well as look

for opportunities to innovate and develop new techniques

  • Manage clients paid media campaigns on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest


  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years experience in related field (e.g. marketing, pr, advertising, and/or social media)
  • Professional experience using all major social media platforms
  • Analytically strong with proven ability to demonstrate data interpretation capabilities as it relates to real time marketing
  • A solid understanding of appropriate posting techniques on each social platform
  • The ability to adapt to various “voices” and audiences
  • Experience using listening & reporting tools like Facebook Insights, Brandwatch and Google Analytics
  • Experience managing Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Pinterest Ads
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Proficient in Photoshop
  • Basic understanding of SEO and SEM a plus
